Born Dubuque, Iowa, September 4, 1960; admitted to bar, 1986, Illinois; 1988, U.S. District Court, Northern and Central Districts of Illinois; 1990, Federal Trial Bar; 1993, U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit; 1997, U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit. Education: Loras College (B.S., cum laude, 1983); DePaul University College of Law (J.D., with honors, 1986). Member, DePaul Law Review, 1984-1986. Member: Defense Research Institute; Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel. Mr. Siegert’s practice includes the defense of product liability and toxic tort claims. His product liability practice includes representation of foreign manufacturers and distributors in all aspects of litigation, including challenges to jurisdiction under various international treaties. He has defended product manufacturers in mass tort litigation, including class actions, in both state and federal courts. His experience in toxic tort cases has involved defending claims of lead poisoning, chemical off-gassing, asbestos exposure and chemical groundwater contamination. In addition, Mr. Siegert has extensive experience pursuing subrogation/recovery claims on behalf of insurance carriers and self-insured clients around the country and internationally in matters arising from construction defects, natural disasters, explosions, fires, equipment defects and structural collapse. |
